Uplifting Vulnerable Children Worldwide

World of Children’s Proven Impact

27 years of vision, conversations,

discovery and hard work =

27 years of stories, hope, impact

and more than 2 million lives changed

World of Children funds changemakers
who are serving the world's most vulnerable children.

We have awarded more than $15 million to over 130 organizations working in 70 countries impacting the lives of millions of children.

Our system to identify, verify, fund, and uplift the highest quality organizations dedicated to serving vulnerable children has been recognized as the “gold standard” by entities such as UNICEF-USA, Wall Street Journal, USA Today and CNN.

In 27 years, no one does what we do better. The New York Times referred to World of Children’s Awards as the “Nobel Prize for Child Advocates.”

Mission

World of Children unlocks the future for vulnerable children by funding, elevating, and creating a community for the most effective changemakers worldwide.

Since 1998, World of Children has distinguished itself as a preeminent organization in the global nonprofit sector by identifying, verifying and investing in high impact programs that are answering the world’s most pressing problems facing children today.

“It warmed my heart to read of the 25th anniversary of World of Children. You continue to accomplish wonderful things for vulnerable children and their families. What a grand and important legacy.”

Spotlight

World of Children awarded the 2024 Crisis Award and a $50,000 grant to Spotlight. Spotlight helps law enforcement find more kids, faster and stop future abuse.  Law enforcement doesn’t have enough time to navigate the online commercial sex market to find children and identify their traffickers. Spotlight interrupts the cycle of abuse by equipping frontline responders with intelligence to identify juvenile victims and sex trafficking networks.

Spotlight is a free, world class application available to any law enforcement investigator working on human trafficking cases. 8,000 investigators rely on Spotlight to help reduce the time to discovering a juvenile sex trafficking victim to minutes. The Crisis Award grant supported the training and onboarding of 250 investigators on the Spotlight program.

Rachel’s Challenge

World of Children awarded the 2024 Sholl-Freede Family Education Award and a $50,000 grant to Rachel’s Challenge. Rachel’s Challenge was created after the Columbine High School shooting, in honor of Rachel Scott and the other victims lost on that terrible day. As the first widely known mass school shooting, the Columbine tragedy was a catalyst for action for many people.

After Rachel’s death, her family discovered that she left behind a legacy of kindness and compassion – through her life, her writings, and the people she had reached out to.

Rachel’s Challenge addresses the root causes of school violence, bullying, prejudice, and self-harm through student wellness programs that build connection, hope and resilience. The Sholl-Freede Family Education Award grant funded the Rachel’s Challenge program at 10 elementary, middle, and high schools throughout Southern California.

Juanfe

World of Children awarded a 2024 Sally Manchester Ricchiuti Protection Award and a $25,000 grant to Juanfe. Juanfe creates solutions to the problems of poverty in the poorest communities in Colombia, based on two objectives: reducing child mortality and training teenage mothers through the Teenage Mothers Extension Program.

Many of the teenage mothers whom Juanfe helps are victims of abuse and rape, and are still children themselves. All too often, they are ostracized by their families and leave school in an effort to seek income to support themselves. Juanfe provides these teen mothers with what they need most: empowerment, education, entrepreneurship, psychosocial intervention and healthcare. The programs ensure that teen mothers are armed with the tools they need to succeed.  The Sally Manchester Ricchiuti Protection Award grant supported 200 teenage mothers in the program.

Chernobyl Children International

World of Children awarded a 2024 Sally Manchester Ricchiuti Protection Award and a $25,000 grant to Chernobyl Children International.  Additionally, through the generous support of the Geisinger Health Foundation, World of Children shared a $25,000 grant with Chernobyl Children International.  Geisinger Health Foundation funds supported an international team of 12 Cardiac Surgeons and Nurses traveling to L’viv in Eastern Ukraine to provide life-saving surgeries on children and newborns battling life-threatening conditions in a time of war. The program also provided urgent medical equipment, materials and training to save many lives in this challenging time and far beyond.  The Sally Manchester Ricchiuti Protection Award grant funded the medical care for 60 terminally and profoundly ill children in Belarus through CCI’s Hospice and Community Care Programme. chernobyl-international.com

Tikva

Thousands of Jewish children go hungry every day in Ukraine.  It is estimated that 2,500 children are orphaned or homeless there today, suffering abuse as they live in poverty. Tikva provides love, care, aid and education to the at-risk children and impoverished families in Odessa. World of Children shared an urgently needed $20,000 grant to help feed Jewish orphans during this difficult time of war.  Tikva Odessa has delivered an incredible year of hope for their community, providing evacuations from war zones, rescuing refugees, offering medical and psychological care, and serving millions of healthy meals in both Ukraine and Romania.  TikvaOdessa.org

Cedar Financial and TCM Group raised $18,880 through a rousing auction at their 2024 Annual Charity Dinner. Meet the Changemakers!

"Children need someone to relate to them. They need to know that they are no longer going to be alone; that they are no longer abandoned; that their situation is over. That, as of now, it's over."
